A letter we received from a reader.
The DLP’s candidates and supporters are allowed to post defamatory comments about the BLP’s candidates and its supporters on Barbados Free Press (BFP). The adminstrators of BFP wait like snakes in the grass, waiting to moderate/delete comments posted by the BLP’s supporters, who seek to bring balance to the skewed comments posted by those destructive people in George Street. The is no democracy on Barbados Free Press, which is clearly administrated by the DLP. I want Barbadians to realise that the DLP continues to prove that they are a dictorship party, which does not even allow freedom of speech on Barbados Free Press.
Take a look at the biasness that takes place .

I would urge you to go through all of the postings under my name and tell me where I made such a statement. You are making a deflamatory statement without any substance.
This is a political blog, which should be used to discuss such issues, as opposed to making such allegations.
Until either of you or your DLP colleagues post valid contributes, I reserve the right not to have any further dialogue with any of you.

The DLP has and continues to claim that Barbados Free Press is not administrated by dem.
If that is the case why would the Dems want BFP to be free from BLP supporters?
BFP is free of – credible comments, politically informed comments, persons who are not indoctrinated by DLP lack of morals.
The comments allowed are from those persons who cannot see beyond politics as they await a piece of the fatted calf.
The policies of this Barbados Labour Party government seek to make “A better life for our people” unlike the DLP whose only interest is for the members of the Democratic Labour Party.

It is with great disappointment that I read of the ban placed of two of my party colleagues on the BFP. Maybe now others will understand my earlier warning that the BFP is in fact the DLP’s website funded by Clico and managed by Ronald Jones aka Lady Jerome Hinds, Hartley, Thompson aka Vortex or Mrs. Parris and others.
That they have banned Maria and the Bomber is no surprise to me because I know only to well that they can give but can not take, talk that is not prick, they take that willingly.
Very good observation Maria when you noted that Lady Jerome Hinds did not post any comments on the blog during the time the House was meeting, although she has been seen in past going on the blog while the House was sitting. I hope that the next she walks the stairs in her high heel shoes that she loses a heel and breaks her foot.
Lady of the Night Hinds you ask Maria if she would tell you where the PM got $750,000 in exchange for her admission back on BFP. But better yet if I promise you to keep it a secret the name of the little boy that your wife came home and found you with in bed doing you little business would admit Maria back?
Lady of the Night Hinds you said that you banned Maria because she would not stop selling her ware at Bush Hill but the truth of the matter is that you found the competition very rough and hence your anger because of the very intimate trade you have lost.
Your ban of Maria and the Bomber is an indication of what it would be under a DLP government. Note that under the BFP the stot-rags in the DLP are allowed to say whatever they please on the blog but when the same comments are returned by others they are banned. This is the DLP’s brand of press freedom and democracy. But it also says something else and that is that Barbadians must be careful what they say about the gays in our community. If you are behaving like this now and you are not in power then one must be afraid of what you would become if ever you were to lead this country. God help us all.

If I were as low as you all I would tell you Sylvan who in your cabinet should worry about the gays. The truth is, the BLP contributors need to raise their level of contribution. Every other persons finds time to deal with issues of substance, but whenever they come on they spew some incredible filth and lies that only LSD takers could conjure up. They call persons’ names and lie continuously. It gets monotonous. Duguid needs to sit you down and teach you the precepts of blogging. A blog is not a political pit toilet. You need to come up for breath and bring your heads out the filth sometimes. You must also understand that not everyone who blogs is a Dem or BLP supporter. The bloggers are just expressing the views of the wider society and the sooner the BLP get back in touch with Bajans, the better they will understand why folks are not willing to put up with the behaviour of their stooges like Maria, Sylvan, Stealth Bomber et al. Take a leaf out of Duguid’s book. You may not agree with everything or anything he says or responds to, but he does not concoct lies and delve in unfounded, spiteful filth. In like fashion, the BFP can be annoyingly self-righteous in some of its postings, but they don’t lie about personalities.

The nastiness and spiteful diatribe, which has emanated from your lips is in keeping with your character. As one who is close to the pants of the Prime Minister one would have hoped that you would have set higher standards, but this seems to be impossible. When you seek to characterize persons in such derogatory tones you do your master no good.
Can you tell us why the car you are driving was being raffled by a government agency, no draw was held and yet you are driving it. If this is true could you explain. Can you also tell us why the venom against CLICO. Were you once employed by them or did you owe them or something and did not pay? Why the venom?.
You also hate David Thompson. Was he not your employer when you worked in the office of the Opposition Leader? We know you were paid and you were a torn in the side of the BLP, of course not with such spite and salacious commentary. The Dems would never allow that behaviour. Nevertheless in the name of decency, please stop your nastiness on the blogs.

BFP seems quite fair to me.
If they moderate scandelous or slanderous comments out of their forum, then I guess that is their right to do so. In the event that there are those of us who do not like what they are doing, then set up a counter-site to BFP.
What troubles me significantly, is the way in which members of the public will stop just short of inciting a civil war in this country to justify their party and politics.
Both parties have done well, and both have done their respective measure of uselessness. Barbadians have to go about the business of building the country, one person at a time. Blind support of a party will be with us as long as the prolitariat exixsts, but this does nothing but weaken the social fabric of a nation.
Look past, beyond your neighbour who suports the “other” party and ask yourself? How can I heolp to make Barbados a stronger, safer, cleaner, greener, more-stable place to live.
Yes, there is a lot here that is politically motivated and fuelled. But the more people play into that thinking and the belief that it has no end, the stronger that system becomes.
This is a BLP blog. I suspect that means that it is for those interested in BLP based issues. Don’t dis-respect that theme as you would be upset if someone did the same on the DLP blog.
Just remember, when we are all fighting like cats and dogs over minutia, the country is heading downhill in a handbasket!

Actually, the truth be told, I got banned on a subject that was totally non-political.
I simply started to notice that the BFP was not as free as I thought or what its name implied, and I wasn’t the only one who questioned it at that time, but I was the one that kept up the pressure and when they could not take the heat they banned me.
Free Press is as free as the people who administer it and/or what they want to control.
